Growing up with a single mother and four siblings, life was busy and full of love. Despite my mom’s well-paying job, supporting five kids was no easy feat. Many of our household items were second-hand, and we rarely switched out pieces.

My mom is possibly the biggest influence on why I started this business. She was a DIY queen, transforming our home with her own hands. She built a bench for the porch, redid the floors, updated the molding, and even revamped the kitchen all by herself. Her creativity and resourcefulness inspire everything I do.

Furniture Nation’s Mission is to re-use as many things as possible. Even if it means something as simple as transferring fabric from one piece of furniture to another, or using the wood that made a shelf into a desk. The environment’s landfills aren’t getting any emptier and it requires a conscious effort to reduce, re-use, and recycle. We can love our items even if they change form over time. Such is a natural part of life.
